Kappa Attack

Medi-wizards declined to comment on the condition of three swimmers who were brutally attacked by a kappa yesterday afternoon. The victims, all of whom attend Shiroku's School of Magic in Japan, went for a swim and were ambushed by a kappa lurking in the shallow waters.The victims were immediatly transported to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies via emergency portkey. Once there, I interviewed Dorthy Dunkins, who shared a room with the victims."The poor dears, one was just about torn to bits, you know."According to her, the attack came too quickly for them to react, one of the victims' arms was badly dislocated and had nearly been torn off completely. He is currently being treated with a variety of healing potions while the other two are being treated for minor injuries. All of the victims are expected to make a full recovery.As to the kappa who attacked them, wizards from the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures were dispatched shortly after the attack to find the kappa and place it in ministry custody until it can be safely returned to a more natural habitat well away from humans.If you should ever find youself confronted by a kappa, I hope you remember these ways to protect yourself:Carve your name(and anyone else who may be endangered at the time) onto cucumbers, the kappa's favorite food, and throw them to the kappa. Once he accepts them he can not harm the people whose names were carved into them.A much easier way to rid yourself of a kappa (seeing as how most of us don't carry many cucumbers around with us) is to bow to it several times causing it to bow in return and spill the water from the depression on top of it's head which deprives it of it's strength until it returns to the water and refills it. Take this opportunity to run away.
