Where has all the Family Gone?

Do you ever wonder, 'How can all of Harry's family be dead? At least a second cousin or something." Well, I know that I have. So,how can that be? Well, let's analize the object of our objection:

James:
James was (like Lily) killed at the hands of Voldemort. We all know that. But what about his family? I mean, they can't all be dead, can they? Let's just say that James's parents were muggles and they died of old-age and James was an only child. But what about aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents? Something just isn't right about that.

Lily:
Well Lily was also murred by Voldemort. I'm going to kind of skim through some of this stuff. Let's see...one known sister, son, and husband. Supposed muggle parents, the end. But again, where are the aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents? Honestly we may never know.
