Serveral Reviews for the Goblet of Fire Film
Here are some reviews from some of the biggest news sources out
there.
From Newsweek:

The uncontestable triumph of "Goblet of Fire," however, is Brendan
Gleeson's Alastor (Mad-Eye) Moody, the grizzled new Defense Against the
Dark Arts professor. With a face like cracked pottery and a manner both
menacing and mentoring, he becomes Harry's protector as he faces life-threatening
tests. Gleeson, one of the screen's greatest character actors, steals
every scene he's in—no small feat when you're up against Maggie
Smith and Alan Rickman.

From Ebert
and Roeper: [3.5 out of 4 stars]
quote:

Such varied notes serve him well in Goblet, which explores a wide emotional
range. He balances delicately between whimsy and the ominous, on the uncertain
middle ground where Harry lives, poised between fun at school, teenage
romance and the dark abyss.

From USA
Today: [3 out of 4 stars]
quote:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Ralph Fiennes is a terrifying Lord Voldemort, the evil wizard who killed
Harry's parents and commands the fearsome Death Eaters. It is his first
appearance in adult, humanized form, and the metamorphosis is chilling.

Miami Advance Screening
Yesterday was the Miami advance screening of GOF and there were over 500
hundred people in attendance! It was amazing! I took some snapshots of
people at the event, hope you enjoy! There was even a house elf in attendance!
I'll let you figure that one out... ;)
As for the film itself, I don't want to give anything away, but I'll
tell you this; they do an excellent job in scaring the bejesus out of
you with the Death Eaters and Voldemort himself. Compared to the book
they went at an alarmingly fast pace. I suppose since this is one of my
favorite books, I remember in detail what happens when and they often
fly by a lot of things. However, I like to treat the films as a seperate
entity altogether so as part of the series, it was superb. Much improvement
from the past films and it really tugged at your heartstrings. Ralph Fiennes
does a marvelous job and I personally seem to enjoy Barty Crouch Jr.'s
performance. Miranda Richardson was perfect as Rita and Moody is very
upbeat and sharp.
I could keep on, but I'd rather wait for everyone to catch it. ;)

Did you know?
Thanks to you guys The Halloween Harvest II was a success! However
successful, it will be the last time we will hold the Halloween Harvest.
What will we do instead? We thought we'd rather spend
what little money we and our vistors have to help make the world a better
place! So, starting December 1st, The Black Forest will begin
Project Heifer!
Heifer.org
is a non-profit organization that collects money and buys livestock for
families. There's that saying, "Give a man a fish and feed him
for a day, but teach a man how to fish and you feed him for life."
Well, they do just that. They buy a cow and give it to a family, and since
a cow makes 4 gallons of milk a day, they can feed their family and sell
the left over milk to make money. Once that cow has a baby, they must
give it to another family in the community and teach them the same. It's
all a cycle of help and self reliance that helps people in a struggle
help make a better life for themselves.
Just visit their web
site for more information. I hope you guys aren't disappointed, this
project will hopefully help many all over the world! |
